The NYC Compost Project offers a variety of compost workshops throughout the year on how to start, manage, or build indoor or outdoor compost systems that recycle leaves, garden trimmings, or food scraps into compost.

See below is a list of upcoming workshops and select the one(s) you wish to attend. Registration is required.

Worm Bin Workshop
Learn how to create and manage your own worm bin in this fun and family friendly vermicomposting workshop.  Come with your own bin, and leave with a worm-ready compost setup!
Note: We will not have worms for sale day-of, but will have coupons for workshop attendees!

Manhattan Community Composter Get Together
Join us as we dive into the world community based composting. We will visit three community gardens in Upper Manhattan: Maggie's, Friendship (Wicked), and Hope Garden. At each garden we will focus on a different aspect of community based composting. 

All registered attendees will receive a free 1lb bag of compost! Please wear comfortable shoes & bring water.

Composting in the City
Join NYC Compost Project Hosted by the LES Ecology Center and Elizabeth Street Garden for an introductory workshop on composting your food scraps in New York City. We’ll be covering what compost is, why it is important, and the many ways that all NYC residents can compost their food scraps.
